Hearings extended on development code chapters

The Spokesman-Review

Thursday night the Spokane Valley Planning Commission once again extended public hearings on chapters of the city’s new development code.

The hearing on title 24, building regulations, was extended to the April 12 meeting. The hearing on title 19, zoning, was extended to the meeting March 22, where the extended hearing on title 22, design and development standards, is also on the agenda.

The city has received a six-month extension from the state to complete the plan, which was originally scheduled to be finished at the end of this month.

Commissioners first opted to extend public hearing on the chapters two weeks ago, when a room full of concerned residents and builders pleaded for more time to review and comment on the document.
