MISSOULA – A Missoula man charged with two counts of felony assault for allegedly fracturing his infant son’s skull, legs and ribs is jailed on $500,000 bail after his third arrest in four days.

Scott N. Anderson, 36, was arrested Friday for the February assault, but posted a bond for $30,000 bail within hours.

Early Monday, Anderson was arrested on suspicion of firing a gun into the air in a city park. Court records said police began investigating Anderson on Feb. 17 after his 7-week-old son was hospitalized for a skull fracture.

Anderson is charged with aggravated assault and assault on a minor.

Missoula County Deputy Attorney Suzy Boylan, who is prosecuting the case, said doctors expect the baby to make a full recovery. The infant is in protective custody.
