Education notebook : LC trio named to aerospace program

Three Lewis and Clark High School Students have been accepted to the Washington Aerospace Scholars program.

The program, for high school juniors, is a statewide online learning experience followed by a six-day residential summer internship for select students at The Museum of Flight in Seattle.

The students from LC include Eric Brandon, Rebecca Millsap and Douglas Talkington.

The NASA-designed curriculum prepares students for the summer experience, during which they will plan a mission to Mars.

The program prepares students for careers in engineering and aerospace, and scholars are encouraged to study math, science, engineering and computer science. During the lessons and internships, students have an opportunity to interact with professional engineers and educators.
