Waste plan meeting today
A public meeting on the future of the Spokane Regional Solid Waste System will take place in Spokane Valley today.
The meeting is the last of several to gather ideas from the public on the new 20-year solid waste plan that is scheduled to be adopted this year.
In 2011, bonds to pay for the Spokane waste-to-energy incinerator will be paid off, and officials are looking to the future of waste reduction, disposal and recycling in the county.
Today’s meeting is set for 6 to 10 p.m. at the CenterPlace community center, 2426 N. Discovery Place at Mirabeau Point.
