Alex Banderas was 2 for 4 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run in the second, as Central Valley topped host Gonzaga Prep 12-8 in the Greater Spokane League on Friday.

Cameron Miner also hit a two-run homer in the second, giving the Bears a 6-0 lead.

Trevor Schull picked up the win for CV (2-0) while David Kries took the loss for the Bullpups (0-2).

Elsewhere in the GSL, Nic Fowler and Mark Purser combined to pitch a complete-game four-hitter as Mt. Spokane beat host Rogers (0-2) 5-1. Jarek Cunningham was 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Wildcats (2-0). … Lewis and Clark scored all eight of its runs in the final four innings and cruised to an 8-2 win over host North Central (1-1). Taylor Eglet earned the win for the Tigers (1-1).

Two games were rescheduled because of weather conditions. Shadle Park will host Ferris and University will play at East Valley at 11 a.m. today.

Softball

Chrystal Holt’s two-run home run in the second was all the offense Central Valley needed as the Bears topped visiting East Valley 6-1 in the Greater Spokane League. CV’s Alyssa Erickson allowed one run on seven hits in a complete-game win for the Bears (2-1) while Echo Abramson took the loss for the Knights (0-2). … Kasara Wise broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the ninth with an RBI single and North Central (3-0) went on to beat host Mead (2-1) 4-1 in nine innings. NC’s Alicia Kahler added a two-run single with two outs in the ninth. Kelsie Vallies pitched all nine innings for the Indians, striking out 17 and allowing one run and one hit. … Jenn Andrews was 3 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored as Mt. Spokane edged visiting Ferris 12-11. The Saxons scored three runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to close the deficit to one, but that was as close as they came. Mindy Tremblay picked up the win for the Wildcats (3-0) while Caitlin Conner took the loss for Ferris (0-3). … Lewis and Clark’s game at Gonzaga Prep and Shadle Park’s game at University were rescheduled because of weather conditions. No make-up dates have been set.
