PADDLING: Group deal

Touring kayak private group trips, arranged by Spokane Parks and Recreation, are one of the best recreational bargains around.

These 2-4 hour trips launch on lakes such as West Medical, Silver, Clear, Spokane, Liberty, Hayden or Badger.

The best thing is the cost: $149 for a youth group or $179 for adult groups, includes six stable two-person kayacks, life jackets, paddles, instructor, guide, and transportation in a 14-passenger van.
