Baseball

Beau Brett went 3 for 4, including a pair of home runs, and knocked in five runs as Ferris routed host Shadle Park 11-1 in Greater Spokane League action Saturday.

Andrew Kittredge and Shawn Stockton also hit homers for the Saxons (2-0). Kittredge finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs and three runs.

Casey Hartsell picked up the win for Ferris while Danny Turner took the loss for the Highlanders (0-2).

Elsewhere in the GSL, Jacob Olsufka hit a two-run triple in the fourth and University topped host East Valley (0-2) 8-4. Danny Jordan (1-0) got the win for the Titans (2-0).

Boys soccer

Mitch Weller scored four goals as Cheney routed visiting Colville 8-0 in the Great Northern League. The Blackhawks dominated the game, outshooting the Indians (1-3, 1-2) 28-0. Caleb Johnson added a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks (4-0, 3-0).

Track and field

The Pullman girls and the Lake City boys took first place at the Lewiston Invitational in Lewiston. Lindsay Myron won the 100-meter hurdles and the triple jump for the Greyhounds. The Timberwolves were led by John Coyle, who won the 800 and 1,600.
