Aaron Page’s squeeze bunt in the top of the sixth inning Tuesday broke a 1-all tie and gave Gonzaga Prep (1-2) a 2-1 win over host Mt. Spokane (2-1) in Greater Spokane League action.

Max Manix threw five strong innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out six.

Mark Purser gave the Wildcats their run with a solo home run in the third.

Elsewhere in the GSL, Mead scored nine runs in the first two innings and cruised to an easy 11-2 win over host Lewis and Clark (1-2) at Hart Field. Marshall Cain went 3 for 4, including a home run, and knocked in five runs for the Panthers (1-0). … Ryan Richardson pitched a complete game, allowing no runs on five hits while striking out nine as North Central (2-1) topped host Central Valley (2-1) 2-0. …Andrew Durant went 3 for 4 with four RBIs as East Valley topped host Rogers (0-3) 9-4. The Knights (1-2) scored five runs in the second to go ahead 5-0. … Shadle Park’s game at University has been rescheduled for today at 3:30 p.m. because of weather conditions.

Tyler Proszek (1-0) earned the win for the Cougars (2-1, 1-0). … Elsewhere in the GNL, Rylin Dukes pitched a complete-game three-hitter, allowing no runs and striking out eight as Lakeside blanked visiting Riverside (1-2, 0-1) 2-0 at Nine Mile Falls. Anthony Froemkee went 2 for 2 with two runs scored for the Eagles (2-0, 1-0).

Taneesha Pounder and Melanie Mobley combined for a three-hit shutout as Mead blanked visiting Lewis and Clark (0-3) 7-0 in Greater Spokane League action. Alex Cey hit a two-run triple in the fourth for the Panthers (3-1). … In other GSL play, University (2-2) scored 12 runs in the first and routed host Ferris (0-4) 30-0. Mollie Buelow earned the win for the Titans. … Samantha Skillingstad allowed one run on two hits while striking out 11 as Shadle Park (3-0) routed visiting East Valley (0-3) 13-1 in five innings. Skillingstad contributed from the plate, hitting a two-run home run in the fourth for the Highlanders. … Kelsey Vallies struck out nine and allowed six hits and one run in a complete game as North Central topped visiting Central Valley (2-2) 4-1. Vallies also hit a solo homer in the first inning for the Indians (4-0). … Mary Fairbanks was 2 for 4 with two runs as Rogers (1-2) topped host Mt. Spokane (3-1) 10-3.
