Luau April 14 at Whitworth

The Whitworth Hawaiian Club, Na Pu’uwai o Hawai’i (The Heart of Hawai’i), will share Hawaiian-style food and culture during the club’s 37th annual luau on April 14.

This year’s luau theme is “Changes in Music.” The menu will include kalua pork, macaroni salad, poi, chicken long rice and pineapple. The entertainment portion of the program will feature 11 dances, including hula accompanied by both older and newer music styles.

Doors open and dinner begins at 5 p.m.; entertainment begins at 7 p.m. at the Whitworth Fieldhouse, 300 W. Hawthorne Road. Tickets are $15 general admission; $13 Whitworth students with ID; children 5 and under will be admitted free.

Tickets can be purchased through April 13 at the information desk in the Hixson Union Building at Whitworth College. The desk is open Sunday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 777-3796.
