Brain seminar at Spokane Valley UMC

Spokane Valley United Methodist Church will host a special Maintain Your Brain seminar Sunday.

The free event will feature Joel Loiacono, executive director of the Inland Northwest Alzheimer’s Association, speaking on ways to maintain a healthy brain during the aging process.

Family fun nights

Two Valley churches are hosting family fun nights on Friday. Valley Open Bible will host its first such night beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The evening will include a free family movie and popcorn.

Members of Opportunity Christian Church say anyone alive is the right age to come to their family fun night planned for 7 p.m. at the church at 708 N. Pines Road.

Those attending are asked to bring a snack to share.

Church camp

It’s Church Camp Sunday this week at Veradale United Church of Christ.

Those attending the 10:30 a.m. worship service are invited to wear church camp T-shirts and there will be church camp stories and songs during the service.

A barbecue lunch will be served after the service. Donations will be accepted.

The lunch is a fundraiser for the church’s summer camp fund to send church youth to camp.
