Schafer Road from Dishman-Mica Road to Mercy Court will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to construction on a sewer line.

Easter drama

‘Passion’ begins next week

Members of Valley Assembly of God Church will present the Easter drama “The Passion.” The production will feature more than 75 actors and singers in elaborate costumes as they tell the story of Christ’s death and resurrection.

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, 3 and 6 p.m. next Saturday and 6 p.m. April 8. Admission is free. The church is at 15618 E. Broadway Ave. Call 924-0466 for more information.

Fundraiser

SCOPE breakfast Sunday

Edgecliff SCOPE will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast fundraiser Sunday. The April Fool’s Day Breakfast features pancakes or French toast with bacon or sausage and scrambled eggs. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at VFW Post No. 1435, 212 S. David Road. Cost is $4 for adults in advance, $5 at the door, and $3 for children under 12. Week in review

Valley Fire Commissioners discussed a recent loss control report that was favorable. Four new fire engines of various types are expected in the coming weeks and should be in use by mid-May. Commissioners voted to purchase a Ford F250 and Ford Escape. The number of runs the fire department has been called on are up 18.46 percent over this time last year. Liberty Lake

‘Clean green’ day planned

The city of Liberty Lake will host a community workshop and spring “clean green” day next month.

The community workshop is April 12 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Liberty Lake City Hall, 22710 E. Country Vista Drive. Among the topics are the proposed dog park, street maintenance and arboretum design concepts.

The “clean green” day is April 21 in Pavillion Park. Residents can bring clean, green yard waste to the park for free disposal.
