Please, don’t desert us, Deborah Chan

Oh, please, please, Deborah Chan, do not desert the rest of us lonely ones out there.

I don’t expectorate in public (nor privately, for that matter). I’m not sure what “hawking a loogie” is (I’m guessing it may have something to do with chewing tobacco – revolting stuff!), but I won’t do that either.

And if you hold the door for me, I will smile and say, “Thank you.” If I’m ahead of you, I’ll hold the door for you whether or not you have packages in your hands. I will keep my cell phone off in church.

Truly, you are not alone. But if you “ditch” those few of us left who try to practice the niceties of polite behavior, oh, I shudder to think of it. Please say you’ll stay with us. Please.
