Hometown: Omaha, Neb., but we’ve lived here for 18 1/2 years.

Occupation: Post Falls librarian.

Family: My wife, Michelle, and our daughters: Anna, 24, a student in Portland; and Lia, 30, who lives in Scottsdale, Ariz. She manages a spa.

Hobbies: Fishing, biking, reading, cross-country skiing.

What do you like about North Idaho? The waters, including streams, lakes, rivers. In other words, wherever the trout are happy, I’m happy.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? Spring is such a tease. The sunny days make you think you’ve escaped winter. But it often fools you.

Favorite music: All kinds, including Celtic, world beat, reggae, folk, bluegrass, jazz and classic rock.

Favorite TV show: “Rome” most recently.

Favorite movie: “Sideways.”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? The North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River. That’s where I have communion with trout.
