Astros 7, Reds 5: At Houston, Luke Scott hit a go-ahead, two-run double in a three-run eighth off Mike Stanton (1-1) and Craig Biggio followed with an RBI double as Cincinnati overcame a 5-4 deficit. Dan Wheeler got three outs for his fifth save in six chances, inducing Ken Griffey Jr. to ground into a game-ending double play with two on for Houston, which overcame Griffey’s 566th homer.
Mets 9, Diamondbacks 4: At Phoenix, Damion Easley and David Wright each hit three-run homers in the ninth inning as New York got its 11th straight victory in Arizona’s Chase Field as the Mets overcame a 4-3 deficit.
Phillies 9, Giants 7: At San Francisco, Jimmy Rollins had two triples and drove in two runs and Philadelphia starter Adam Eaton beat San Francisco for the first time in nearly six years.
