Locally owned Mocha Express lands in Lone Star Park Hall of Fame
Mocha Express, which did well for its local owners and trainer at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, in the late 1990s, was inducted in the inaugural class at the Lone Star Park Hall of Fame highlighting the track’s 10th anniversary celebration.
The track’s Horse of the Meet in 1998, the stallion won seven of 12 starts between 1997 and 1999, including a track-record four stakes races. He is the only repeat winner of the Lone Star Handicap.
Overall, he won 16 of 34 starts from 1997 to 2000 and $960,216.
Mocha Express was trained by Tim Harder, a Spokane native and Cheney High School graduate, and owned by Roger Harder, a retired local veterinarian, and Don Strate of Davenport.
