A warm summer evening, a cool drink and the gentle rocking motion of a rocking chair on the porch is one of life’s great combinations. The only way to make it better is to share the moment with someone special.

This handsome double porch rocker project is a comfortable (and affordable) way for do-it-yourselfers to do just that.

Made from standard cedar lumber, the chair features classic Mission styling that looks great on any porch or patio.

How to build it

Construction is straightforward. First, trace the patterns onto wood and cut out the pieces. Next, sand everything, drill pilot holes and assemble using glue and screws.

The double porch rocker measures about 44 inches long by 36 inches tall by 29 inches deep (at the rockers).

The Double Porch Rocker plan, No. 929, is $10.95 and includes step-by-step directions with photos, full-size traceable patterns, a shopping list and cutting schedule and a toll-free help line for project questions.
