Bookmobile gets grand opening

Kootenai-Shoshone Area Libraries will show off their new bookmobile from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the parking lot of the Prairie Shopping Center.

The bookmobile is more than 30 feet long and holds more than 2,500 books. It is wheelchair-accessible, and an onboard laptop connects to the main library, so checking out a book is just like at a library. “The president of our board will cut the ribbon at 10 a.m., and there will be a cake, face painting, crafts for kids, and a story time at 11 a.m.,” said librarian Kate Flagg.

The bookmobile also carries tapes, CDs, and VHS and DVD movies. For more information call the Hayden Library at 772-5612.
