Tigers 8, Twins 2: At Minneapolis, Magglio Ordonez and Craig Monroe each drove in two runs to back Chad Durbin as Detroit beat Minnesota, sending the reeling Twins to their fourth straight defeat. Durbin allowed two runs, seven hits and three walks in six innings.
Blue Jays 5, Devil Rays 4: At Toronto, Vernon Wells scored the go-ahead run from first base on Lyle Overbay’s two-out single in the seventh inning and Toronto beat Tampa Bay for its second straight win following a nine-game losing streak. Tampa Bay starter Edwin Jackson struck out a career-high nine in six innings.
Red Sox 13, Orioles 4: At Boston, Kevin Youkilis singled in the go-ahead run in the sixth, Alex Cora added a two-run single in the seventh and Boston resumed its domination of Baltimore with the win. Julio Lugo had four of Boston’s 15 hits, including an RBI single in the eighth.
Angels 6, Rangers 3: At Arlington, Texas, Orlando Cabrera went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI double and Vladimir Guerrero also had an RBI double to lead Los Angeles past Texas. Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth for his 12th save in 13 chances.
Indians 6, Athletics 3: At Oakland, Calif., Fausto Carmona recovered from a shaky first inning to win his fourth straight start and Josh Barfield hit a pair of run-scoring triples as Cleveland beat Oakland and stopped a three-game losing streak.
White Sox 5, Royals 4 (10): At Chicago, Juan Uribe hit a tying double with two outs in the ninth inning and Jermaine Dye singled in the winning run in the 10th as Chicago rallied to get the victory over Kansas City.
