Man on street
Q: Five people chosen at random were asked: How do you feel about global warming? How has it impacted your life and the way you live on a day-to-day basis, if at all?
Adam Boustead of Spirit Lake: “I think it’s just a big scare, personally. I don’t think it’s affected me at all, other than all the emissions crap they do to cars.”
Connie Boustead of Seabeck, Wash.: “I feel there’s something to it, but I don’t feel it is as bad as they are putting on it. … They don’t get all the facts out on both sides. I don’t see any (effects). If there is an effect, I’m not seeing it.”
Ed Rousar of Post Falls: “I think it’s overexaggerated. I think it’s blown out of proportion. … It all depends on who’s backing (the information). How do you know who you are supposed to believe? Quite frankly, it hasn’t impacted my life in any way other than the fact that I’m looking at (buying) a hydrogen car. When you affect people’s money, that’s when you change their minds.”
DJ Edwards of Rathdrum: “Global warming, to me – I don’t really believe it. I think it’s a conspiracy. I don’t think we should do anything to prevent it because it’s not going to affect us for a much longer time. It hasn’t (affected me).”
Susan Patterson of Coeur d’Alene: “I think you should act locally, and globally things will take care of themselves. So I don’t spend much time thinking about it. I don’t think I need my snow tires on as many days of the year.”
