NWAACC tournament time for Sasquatch

Athletes from Community Colleges of Spokane are gearing up for spring sports finales as they prepare for NWAACC championship tournaments that will take place this weekend or next week.

The baseball and tennis teams will host their respective tournaments.

The baseball Eastern Region Championships are Friday and Saturday at Avista Stadium. The Sasquatch will face Wenatchee Valley in the first round, at 10 a.m. Friday. If they will, they will play again at 7 p.m. and if they lose they will play at 4 p.m.

The men’s and women’s NWAACC tennis championships are Friday through Sunday at Spokane Falls Community College.

The CCS softball team will head to Delta Park in Portland for the three-day, double-elimination tournament that begins Friday.

The Sasquatch meet Bellevue at 9 a.m. in the first round. If they win, they would face the winner of Pierce and Chemeketa in the championship bracket. If they lose, the Sasquatch will play the loser of Pierce and Chemeketa. Either game will be at 1:30 p.m.

CCS men’s and women’s golf teams are also heading to the NWAACC championships at Washington National Country Club in Auburn, Wash., Monday and Tuesday.

The track and field championships, hosted by Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Ore., are May 25-26.
