Timberlake loses title game to Kimberly
POCATELLO, Idaho – Kimberly scored three times in the top of the third inning and held on to beat Timberlake 3-1 Saturday in the State 3A softball championship game at Ward Field.
Kala Allred relieved starter Ashton Allred in the third and struck out 10 in five innings. Kala Allred also had three hits.
The Bulldogs won despite being held to three hits.
Timberlake beat Marsh Valley 8-0 earlier in the day to advance to the finals. Kala Allred threw a complete-game three-hitter and struck out 16 of the 21 batters she faced.
Alycia Barrowcliff went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs and Holly Edelblute had a double, triple and knocked in a run to lead the Tigers’ offense.
The Tigers finished with a 24-8 record.
