Police investigating drive-by shooting

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Police were investigating a drive-by shooting that happened mere blocks from a gang enforcement effort in a city park Wednesday night.

The gang enforcement unit was working about 9:30 p.m. in Dutch Jake Park at 1900 West College in West Central when gunshots rang out two to three blocks west, said Spokane police Officer Tim Moses.

Officers found two cars with bullet holes in them, Moses said.

One suspect may have fled the scene and stashed a gun in a nearby home, and officers were waiting for a search warrant late Wednesday to look for it, police said.

Nobody was injured in the incident, and one subject was detained for questioning.
