Week in review

Valley Fire – Commissioners discussed the planned development in the Ponderosa area. They also discussed a resolution to formally make the district’s name Spokane Valley Fire Department and cease using Spokane County Fire District 1. The resolution is expected to pass at the next meeting. Several people were promoted during a ceremony at the end of the meeting. (Source: Commissioner Joe Dawson)

University SCOPE – Volunteers discussed the Sprague rest stop fundraiser coming up July 24-26. They also discussed hosting a community event later in the year. One of the group’s volunteers is planning to participate in a Special Olympics run across the state that will go through the area this week. The SCOPE station’s remodeling project is complete.
