Woman jailed on four charges of vehicular assault
A Spokane Valley woman was arrested Thursday and charged with four counts of vehicular assault for her role in a multivehicle crash April 2 at Sullivan Road and Valleyway Avenue.
Francisca R. Bell, 32, was booked into the Spokane County Jail on the four felony charges, said Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.
Bell was driving a Ford Explorer that crossed over the center turn lane of Sullivan Road and hit two vehicles head-on at Valleyway. One of the other drivers suffered a broken nose, and a second driver suffered extensive foot, leg and knee injuries.
A pregnant passenger in one of the other vehicles suffered a broken pelvis, and her baby was delivered prematurely.
Officers at the time of the crash seized morphine, Hydrocodone and Promethazine from Bell’s vehicle.
Detective Don Manning said Thursday his investigation revealed that Bell was driving while under the influence of the morphine and Promethazine, as well as marijuana, at the time of the crash.
Vehicles vandalized with spraypaint
A vandal armed with spray paint damaged numerous vehicles overnight Tuesday, said Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.
Cars in the 4200 block of south Hollow and 3900 block of south Johnson were spray painted with profanities in both red and green paint. License plates and headlights were painted out or had red or green lines painted on them.
