ANAHEIM, Calif. – Vladimir Guerrero hit a go-ahead, three-run homer off Felix Hernandez and the Angels bullpen kept the lead Wednesday night, giving Los Angeles an 8-6 win over Seattle.

Gary Matthews Jr. and Casey Kotchman hit consecutive home runs in the first inning for the American League West leaders. Guerrero’s 11th homer put the Angels ahead 7-5 in the fifth.

Dustin Moseley got the win in relief of starter Jered Weaver, who was pulled after 4 2/3 innings. Moseley pitched and gave up an RBI double to Raul Ibanez that cut the Angels’ edge to 7-6 in the sixth.

Scot Shields pitched a perfect eighth and Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth for his 18th save in 19 chances.

Hernandez (3-3) allowed seven runs and nine hits in seven innings. He surrendered his first three homers of the season.

Seattle’s Ichiro Suzuki extended his hitting streak to 23 games – tying his career best in 2001. The two-time A.L. batting champion is within one game of the franchise record set by Joey Cora in 1997.

Weaver had won his previous three starts, and the Angels gave him a 4-1 lead in the first inning. The Mariners made it 4-all on Adrian Beltre’s RBI double in the fifth and Yuniesky Betancourt followed with an RBI single that finished Weaver.

Guerrero connected in the bottom half for his first home run since May 17 at Seattle. He had a chance to break open the game in the eighth, but struck out with the bases loaded.
