Volunteer Management Institute – A variety of training courses will be available for volunteer managers Tuesday through Friday at the WSU Riverpoint Campus, 600 N. Riverpoint Blvd. Course topics include needs assessment, recruiting, management/supervision. For more information or to register, visit http://emmps.wsu.edu/volunteer.

Rosauers and KREM 2 Tom’s Turkey Drive – Volunteers are needed at local Rosauers stores to collect turkey donations for area families in need Nov. 16-17. Volunteers age 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Register at www.2harvest.org and click on the “Volunteer Now” icon.

Page Ahead Children’s Literacy Program – Volunteers are needed to read stories to children in preschools and kindergartens. Volunteers must agree to a background check. Visit http://pageahead.org for more information.

Spokane AARP Tax-Aide Program – Volunteers are needed to provide assistance and tax preparation services to low- and middle-income tax payers. Interested participants will be trained in the fall in order to volunteer during traditional tax season, January to April. Volunteers will receive free comprehensive tax training and will be reimbursed on a limited basis for qualified program-related expenses. Contact Stephanie Blumhagen at 838-6581, ext. 112.
