North Central pitcher Kelsie Vallies announced she will play next year for Arkansas of the Southeastern Conference.
Vallies guided the Indians to fourth place at the State 3A tournament last spring. She also allowed one earned run when the Washington Lady Hawks finished ninth in the 64-team ASA 18-U Gold tournament.
Vallies said a Razorbacks coach watched her pitch in California this fall and invited her to visit.
“They were looking for a pitcher and liked everything about my style,” Vallies said. “As soon as I stepped on campus I knew it was a perfect fit.”
She will play in a conference that includes NCAA national runner-up Tennessee.
