Salute!

» All veterans and members of the community are invited to a special concert in honor of Veterans Day on Monday. The choirs and drama team of Valley Christian School will present a program titled "Heroes Among Us, We Thank You" at 9:30 a.m. at Valleypoint at Pines, Eighth and Pines Road. This is the 19th annual Veterans Day Program performed by the school.

» All are welcome to attend, so drop by and give a hearty salute to those who have helped defend our country over the years.

Scouting for food

» If you got one of the special Boy Scout food drive bags on your doorstep sometime this week, have it filled and on your porch by 9 a.m. today. If you decided to sleep in or didn't get a bag, donations can be brought to any Rosauers location in the area. The 25th annual drive collects nonperishable food items for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

» It's one of the largest annual food drives. Second Harvest provides food to more than 48,000 low income residents of Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
