In brief: Development appeal rejected

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane County Hearing Examiner Michael Dempsey properly approved a preliminary plat for the Ponderosa Ridge subdivision, the Washington Court of Appeals in Spokane ruled last week.

The court rejected an appeal by the Ponderosa Neighborhood Association on grounds that Dempsey’s decision wasn’t supported by substantial evidence. The appeal focused on whether roads would be adequate.

Property owner Lanzce Douglass, represented by Cameron & Associates, plans 100 single-family homes on 27.7 acres at the southeast corner of 44th Avenue and Schafer Branch Road.
