Shaquille O’Neal and Dwyane Wade both played their best games of the season, and the Miami Heat finally won at home, beating the Houston Rockets 98-91 on Friday night in Miami.
O’Neal had season highs of 26 points and 14 rebounds, Wade scored a season-high 31 points, and the Heat handed the Rockets their sixth straight loss.
Ricky Davis added 12 points and Udonis Haslem 11 for Miami, which had been 0-5 at home.
Yao Ming and Luis Scola each scored 20 points and Tracy McGrady had 19 for Houston.
Warriors 123, Wizards 115: At Washington, in a rare instance of double triple-doubles, Baron Davis and Golden State got the better of Caron Butler and the Wizards.
Davis had 33 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds for the Warriors and Butler finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for Washington.
Celtics 107, Lakers 94: At Boston, Kevin Garnett had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the new Big Three in its first game against the rival Lakers, and Paul Pierce added 20 points and nine assists to help the Celtics beat Los Angeles.
Kobe Bryant scored 28 points for Los Angeles, which got no help from having California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting courtside.
Pistons 83, 76ers 79: At Auburn Hills, Mich., Tayshaun Prince scored 15 points and Detroit held on for its fourth home victory in four games by beating Philadelphia.
Philadelphia’s Andre Miller scored 14 points.
Jazz 99, Hornets 71: At Salt Lake City, Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead Utah past New Orleans for its sixth consecutive home victory.
Ronnie Brewer had 13 points, while Ronnie Price, Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur scored 12 for the Jazz.
Pacers 111, Mavericks 107: At Indianapolis, Danny Granger scored 25 points and Jamaal Tinsley added 24 to help Indiana hold off Dallas.
Devin Harris scored 24 points, Dirk Nowitzki added 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Josh Howard finished with 19 points for the Mavericks.
Spurs 101, Grizzlies 88: At San Antonio, Tim Duncan scored 28 points and the Spurs beat Memphis for their fourth straight victory.
Tony Parker added 21 points and eight assists for San Antonio.
Suns 113, Clippers 94: At Phoenix, Amare Stoudemire scored 13 of his season-high 29 points in the decisive third quarter and the Suns matched the best start to a season in franchise history by beating Los Angeles.
Shawn Marion added 21 points, 17 rebounds and five steals for 11-2 Phoenix.
Blazers 87, Kings 84: At Portland, LaMarcus Aldridge had 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Blazers to a victory over Sacramento.
Brandon Roy made the go-ahead basket and finished with 13 points and eight assists.
Magic 105, Bobcats 92: At Orlando, Fla., Dwight Howard had 34 points and 17 rebounds to help the Magic overcome a poor shooting night and beat Charlotte.
Howard made 11 of 14 shots, while his teammates were a combined 27 of 66 from the field, including 7 of 28 from 3-point range. Hedo Turkoglu added 16 points for the Magic.
Nuggets 99, Timberwolves 93: At Denver, Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points and Kenyon Martin had a season-high 18 to lift the Nuggets to a win over Minnesota.
The Nuggets have now won seven of their last eight games.
