Erat lifts Predators over Ottawa

Martin Erat scored with 22.2 seconds left to give the Nashville Predators a 6-5 victory over the slumping Ottawa Senators on Thursday night in Ottawa.

J.P. Dumont got his fourth point of the game on the play as he stripped the puck from Ottawa’s Dean McAmmond and fed it to Erat.

Maple Leafs 4, Thrashers 1: At Atlanta, Mats Sundin scored his 13th goal and Nik Antropov had two assists to help Toronto beat the Thrashers.

Ducks 4, Flames 1: At Calgary, Alberta, Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 38 saves as Anaheim beat the Flames.

Canucks 2, Blue Jackets 0: At Vancouver, British Columbia, Roberto Luongo made 26 saves for his third straight shutout as Vancouver beat Columbus.

Rangers 4, Islanders 2: At New York, Chris Drury had a goal and an assist and the Rangers finally solved Rick DiPietro and the Islanders.

•Rangers forward Sean Avery was scheduled to undergo surgery on his left wrist prior to the game against the Islanders.

Predators sale approved

The NHL’s board of governors approved the sale of the Nashville Predators and changed the scheduling format to allow every team to face each other at least once every season.
