USOC wants medals returned
The U.S. Olympic Committee made a point of urging Marion Jones’ relay teams to return their medals – a stance that could bolster the United States’ reputation as it bids for the 2016 Olympics even though the leaders insist that wasn’t their motive.
USOC chairman Peter Ueberroth reasserted his belief Friday that the medals Jones won with her relay partners at the 2000 Sydney Olympics were won unfairly and should be returned.
