“ You were born in New Jersey of Polish and Italian ancestry. Tell us about a food you always looked forward to as a child.
Spending much of my time after school with my Italian grandparents in New Jersey, I had as an integral part of my diet all the forms and shapes of spaghetti that you could imagine. And to this day my favorite meal is spaghetti with meat sauce. And my second favorite meal remains spaghetti with meat sauce!
“Complete this sentence: Of all fresh fruits, the taste of … is the most amazing.
The taste of red cherries is most amazing. Outside of my grandparents’ home was a gigantic cherry tree. We’d fill 15 to 20 buckets with beautiful red cherries that had one large pit inside. To this day, when I think about them or see a display of cherries somewhere, my mouth waters.
“If you could mentally erase the calories from this food, you’d eat it all day long:
I would eat the Lime Meringue pie made by my dear friend Flo Porter from Fort Worth, Texas. It beats any pie on the face of the earth.
