In brief: Yoga for the Cure will be Saturday
Stretch and breath deep for your health and breast cancer research.
The third-annual Yoga for the Cure takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Liberty Lake Athletic Club, 23410 E. Mission Ave.
The fundraising event is the idea of Jan Long, a seven-year breast cancer survivor.
“People can donate whatever amount they want,” Long said. “All of it will go to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation.”

Party to benefit recycling group
Too Slim & the Taildraggers will headline a benefit Halloween costume party for The Recycling Foundation on Saturday, beginning at 9 p.m. The event will take place at Annie Fannie’s, 3827 E. Boone Ave.
A cover charge of $15will be collected at the door. All proceeds benefit the Recycling Foundation.
Cash prizes will be awarded for outstanding costumes – $500 for overall best costume, $250 for second place and $100 for third place. No-host food and refreshments will be available. No one under 21 is allowed.

Band holds benefit concert
Christian girl band Door of Hope and other musicians will be performing at a special benefit concert for Kim Predisik on Sunday at The Service Station, 9315 N. Nevada St. The nonprofit business has donated the facilities and its technical staff for the benefit.
For years, Predisik shared his musical talent with those facing terminal illness through his music ministry, “Micah 6:8,” and now his supporters are raising money to help with the cost of his own cancer treatment.

Tickets on sale for Kiwanis auction
Tickets are still available for the 29th annual West Spokane Kiwanis Auction and Wine Tasting Nov. 10 at West Central Community Center, 1600 N. Belt St.
Cost is $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Tickets include wine, hors d’oeuvres and door prize drawing. The event has raised more than $193,000 for community projects such as Lend-a-Crib, youth programs, free bike helmets, Children’s Miracle Network, Aktion Clubs, free book program and more.

Fundraiser benefits youth theater
There will be a party Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theatre, 901 W. Sprague Ave., to raise funds for a former director of the Christian Youth Theatre.
Greg Papst was recently diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. He is a military veteran and has no health insurance since he was working as an independent contractor when he was diagnosed.
Former participants from the past 10 years will be at the theater to sing songs, tell stories and reminisce.
