NHL : Jokinen hits milestone in Panthers’ win

Olli Jokinen scored twice to become Florida’s career leader in goals and points, and the Panthers went on to beat Philadelphia 4-3 on Wednesday night at Sunrise, Fla.

Jokinen’s first goal was his 355th point with the Panthers and his second goal was his 158th. Both records previously belonged to Scott Mellanby.

Gregory Campbell also had two goals for the Panthers. Richard Zednik and Bryan Allen each had two assists.

Joffrey Lupul, Jeff Carter and Lasse Kukkonen scored for the Flyers, who had won their last five games.

Florida outshot the Flyers 42-23, including a 14-5 advantage in the second period. Tomas Vokoun stopped 20 shots for Florida. Martin Biron made 38 saves for the Flyers.

Red Wings 3, Canucks 2: Tomas Holmstrom scored twice to help host Detroit beat Vancouver.

Matt Ellis also had a goal, Brian Rafalski added two assists, and Dominik Hasek made 13 saves for the Red Wings.

Matt Cooke and Daniel Sedin scored for Vancouver, and Robert Luongo stopped 36 shots.

Capitals 5, Lightning 3: Washington captain Chris Clark scored his first two goals, and the Capitals produced the team’s biggest scoring output of the season in a home victory over Tampa Bay.

Alex Ovechkin contributed two assists and an empty-net goal with 4 seconds left to help Washington end a four-game losing streak.

Hurricanes 6, Sabres 2: At Raleigh, N.C., Eric Staal, Jeff Hamilton, Cory Stillman and Bret Hedican scored third-period goals in Carolina’s win against Buffalo.

Rod Brind’Amour and Ray Whitney added goals for Carolina, and Cam Ward made 19 saves to improve to 6-0 in the regular season for the Southeast Division-leading Hurricanes.

Flames 5, Wild 3: At Calgary, Alberta, Adrian Aucoin scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, and Calgary beat Minnesota.

Jarome Iginla and Dion Phaneuf rallied the Flames after trailing 3-0 early with power-play goals in the second, and Alex Tanguay tied it in the period. Aucoin gave Calgary the lead at 3:46 of the third, and Robyn Regehr added a goal at 8:03.

Brian Rolston, Mark Parrish and Wes Walz all scored for the Wild in the first.
