Nursing facility proposed

The Spokesman-Review

A 120-bed skilled nursing facility on the South Side is among three new development projects being sought at City Hall.

Extendicare Health Services of Dublin, Ohio, has proposed the nursing facility at 4515 S. Freya St. The project needs a conditional use permit, which requires a public hearing before the hearing examiner. No hearing has been set yet. A community meeting to explain the project was held last Thursday at the South Side Senior Activity Center.

Elsewhere, Sconiers Developments LLC of Chattaroy wants to build a 33-lot residential subdivision at 1711 W. Strong Road. A community meeting on the project is set for Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Indian Trail branch library, 4909 W. Barnes Road.

Also, Arthur Richey of Tulsa, Okla., is seeking a comprehensive land-use amendment to change property north of the old Palouse Highway east of Regal Street from residential to commercial use. It is one of several similar changes proposed in the area in recent months.
