OSU beats Stanford
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sean Canfield threw for 142 yards and Alexis Serna kicked three field goals in to lead Oregon State to a 23-6 win over Stanford Saturday.
Matthew Sieverson ran for 68 yards after replacing injured tailback Yvenson Bernard for the Beavers (5-3, 3-2 Pac-10). Bernard ran for 62 yards before leaving at halftime with a shoulder injury.
Freshman Tavita Pritchard completed 16 of 32 passes for 168 yards for the Cardinal (3-5, 2-4). Richard Sherman caught three passes for 70 yards.
Canfield completed 15 of 29 passes but avoided turnovers. He’s thrown 13 interceptions this season but none in the past three games.
OSU’s Darrell Catchings had six receptions for 51 yards.
A blocked field goal and three fourth-quarter turnovers ruined Stanford’s bid to rally.
