Store robbery believed to be related to others
A knife-wielding man believed to be the same person who committed half a dozen robberies in Spokane County this past week robbed a Millwood video store late Friday, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
The latest robbery happened at 11:17 p.m., when a man entered Hollywood Video, 8901 E. Trent Ave.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, the robber took a female employee by her left arm and displayed a 3- to 4-inch-long knife while demanding cash. He later put the point of the knife against her back.
The robber then fled the store, according to the press release. A canine team from the Sheriff’s Office searched the area for a half-hour but did not locate the man.
The robber was described as white, in his 30s to mid-40s, about 5-foot-7 and 220 pounds. He had blue eyes and several days’ worth of beard stubble. He also wore a black beanie or ski cap, a white shirt underneath a gray overcoat, blue jeans and black shoes. He wore gloves.
Witnesses said the man was last seen heading north from the store on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (509) 242-TIPS.
