Red Mass will be Tuesday
The Gonzaga University School of Law hosts a Red Mass for the Legal Profession every year at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone Ave.
This year’s service will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and the Rev. Robert Spitzer will preside over the service.
The tradition of the Red Mass goes back to the year 1310 to celebrate the beginning of the fall term of the King’s Bench in England.
Today the service is celebrated around the world, regardless of religious affiliation.

Caring for Kids Luncheon
A luncheon to benefit St. Anne’s Children and Family Center and Morning Star Boys’ Ranch will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Spokane Convention Center.
The 11th Annual Caring for Kids Luncheon will feature speaker Linda Schaefer, a photojournalist who has worked for Time Magazine, the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Paris Match, Stern, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and was an editor at CNN.
Schaefer also spent time with Mother Teresa of Calcutta shortly before the nun’s death.
For the last 10 years, this luncheon has raised over $279,000 for the two organizations.

Classes and workshops
The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present Nora Gallagher during several events this weekend.
Gallagher is the author of “Things Seen and Unseen” and “Practicing Resurrection,”
She will present a workshop Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will speak on the topic, “Practicing Resurrection.”
Tickets for the workshop are $30 and include lunch.
There will be a reception Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are $20 and include refreshments.
She will also present the church’s Sunday Seminar at 10 a.m. Sunday and will lead worship during the 11 a.m. service.

The Radha Yoga Center, 406 S. Coeur d’Alene St., will offer the classes Mantra, Vibration & Transformation on today, Sept. 20 and 27 from 7:15 to 9:15 a.m.
The classes will discuss changing the vibrations in your body and mind to transform your life.
The cost is $30 for all three sessions.
The center will also present Sacred Dance classes on Saturdays from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. starting this week through Oct. 20.
No experience is needed for the classes.

Concert
St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2 W. Third Ave., will present “Blasting out the Pipes” Sunday at 4 p.m.
The concert is a farewell concert and hymn sing before the church organ is dismantled and stored until the church’s new sanctuary is completed at its new location on Meadowlane Road.

Unity Church of Truth events
The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard, will present Kate Moody in concert Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Moody is a pianist and composer.
The cost is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, and $25 for families.
The church will also present its Spiritual Cinema series Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The film, “Living Luminaries on the Serious Business of Happiness” will discuss achieving happiness.

Christian Singles Fellowship will hold its monthly meeting Saturday at 7 p.m. at North Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison St.
