Royals 3, White Sox 0: At Kansas City, Mo., Zack Greinke struck out a career-high 10 and allowed two hits in eight innings to lead the Royals past Chicago. Greinke made his sixth start since rejoining the rotation on Aug. 24 and allowed just one runner past first base. The Royals moved ahead of Chicago and out of last place in the Central Division.

Orioles 6, Rangers 3 (10): At Arlington, Texas, Nick Markakis scored the go-ahead run on an error in the 10th as Baltimore beat Texas in their first meeting since the Rangers scored an A.L.-record 39 runs in a doubleheader sweep last month. Markakis led off the 10th with an infield single.
