Week in review
Fire District 8 – Commissioners discussed the proposed capital replacement plan and directed the chief to begin working it into the budget planning process. They discussed co-locating a station with Valley Fire, but decided not to pursue it at this time. The chief was instructed to look for available land near the Highway 27 corridor for future population growth. Commissioners voted to change the monthly meeting to the second Tuesday of each month. It will still begin at 6 p.m. at Station 82. A public hearing on the 2008 budget it planned for the next meeting on Oct. 10 (a special day). (Source: Administrative assistant Carol Trescott)
Fairfield City Council – The town’s engineer discussed applying for a CDBG water improvement grant. Council members discussed a pedestrian bridge over Ticknor and the 2008 budget. A citizen made a proposal to rename the town’s upper park to Morrison Park. (Source: Town clerk Shelly Wood)
