Piper Wahlin had 18 kills and Abby Helander added 26 digs, leading Sandpoint to a 27-25, 22-25, 15-25, 25-19, 15-10 come-from-behind win over visiting Coeur d’Alene Thursday in the Inland Empire League.
Koko James added 25 assists for the Bulldogs (7-0).
Hanna Johnson and Shelby Robb had 12 kills apiece to lead the Vikings (6-2).
Elsewhere in the IEL, McKenzie Carlson had 11 kills and Amslee Stuart added 26 digs, leading Post Falls to a 26-24, 25-23, 9-25, 22-25, 15-9 win over host Lewiston (2-7). Jalana White chipped in 22 assists for the Trojans (1-7). … Colleen Lopez had 15 kills and Courtney Jewett dished out 14 assists as Moscow (6-2) defeated visiting Lakeland (2-6) 21-25, 27-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Hayley Smith’s hat trick propelled Coeur d’Alene to a 5-0 win over host Lakeland (2-10-2, 1-7-2) in an Inland Empire League game in Rathdrum. Sadie Simon added two goals for the Vikings (11-3-1, 9-1). … In other league play, Sandpoint’s Nicole VanDyk and Moscow’s Quincy Moore each scored first-half goals as the two teams played to a 1-1 tie in Moscow (4-4-3, 2-4-3). The Bulldogs (8-5-3, 6-2-2) held an 18-9 advantage in shots. … Ember Gillespie scored in the 70th minute to break a 2-2 tie and give Lewiston (6-5, 4-5) a 3-2 win over visiting Post Falls (1-8-2, 0-7-1).

Jordan Corriea scored two goals and assisted on another as Coeur d’Alene defeated visiting Lakeland 5-1 in the Inland Empire League. Jon Schmehl, Robby Astin and Mitchell Kohles also added goals for the Vikings (12-0-2, 8-0-2), who held a 21-4 advantage over the Hawks (1-10-2, 0-8-1) in shots on goal. … Elsewhere, Alex Crossingham had a goal and an assist, leading Sandpoint to a 3-0 win over visiting Moscow (9-4, 6-4). Cross country
Moscow’s Cody Wendt finished with a 5,000-meter time of 18 minutes, 42.41 seconds to claim the top spot and guide the Bears to a first-place finish at the Lewiston Invite at Hells Gate State Park. For the girls, Moscow’s Julia Veseth won in 21:40.53, but Bonners Ferry edged the Bears 38-39 to take the team title. BF’s Melody Braden ran 22:03.
