Region in brief: SCOPE serving plates of pasta today
The annual Edgecliff SCOPE Spaghetti Feed and Raffle will be today at VFW Post No. 1435, 212 S. David Road. Food will be served from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tickets sold at the door are $6 for adults and $4 for children. Raffle tickets cost $1 and all money raised goes to support the Edgecliff SCOPE program.

Liberty Lake
Ballots must be postmarked by May 7
Ballots for the $9 million bond for a library/community center in Liberty Lake must be postmarked by Tuesday. The measure requires 60 percent approval to pass. The results will be certified on May 7.
The proposed building at Mission and Signal Road would include a 10,700-square-foot library, a 6,300-square-foot community center plus a multipurpose room and a commons area. The 20-year bond would cost $114 per year for the owner of a home assessed at $200,000.
Spokane Valley
Weekend yard sale will benefit SVHS
Students at Spokane Valley High School will have a yard sale Friday and next Saturday to raise money for a solar panel for the school.
Sale hours will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Saturday at the school, west of Argonne Road at 2011 N. Hutchinson Road. Refreshments will be available.
St. Mary’s dinner, auction fundraiser coming up
St. Mary’s Catholic School will host its annual fundraiser dinner and auction next Saturday at the Mirabeau Park Hotel, 1100 N. Sullivan Road.
The evening will begin with a silent auction at 4:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a live auction. The evening will close with dancing to The Jackson Street Band.
The event is the school’s 36th annual fundraiser and raises 10 percent of the school’s annual budget. The cost is $45 per person. Call 924-4300, ext. 206 for reservations.
Otis Orchards
Get ready for Otis Orchards Fun Day
SCOPE East and Otis Orchards Elementary School will host the annual Otis Orchards Fun Day next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school, at 22000 E. Wellesley Ave.
There will be a bike rodeo, food, silent auction, raffle, face painting and games. Game tickets will be five for $1. A parade will begin at noon.
