Manito Presbyterian Church, 401 E. 30th Ave., will celebrate 100 years of worship Saturday and Sunday.

The celebration begins at 4:30 Saturday with a Hymn Fest and will feature music from current and former church musicians.

The anniversary worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, which will be followed by a reception to honor descendants of the church pioneers.

The church will hold a community event to celebrate the anniversary later this summer.

Women’s outreach

The Lake City Assembly of God’s women’s ministry, 400 E. Grace, Medical Lake, will present a spa day for mothers of young children Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mothers of young children are invited to get hair cuts, pedicures, facials and more while there are a number of activities for children 4 through 12 years old and nursery care for toddlers and babies.

For the kids, there will be a blow-up castle, games and activities.

Volunteers are also welcome.

Concerts

“Northview Bible Church, 13521 N. Mill Road, will present the Liberated Wailing Wall, a Jews for Jesus music team Sunday at 6 p.m.

The evening will include music, drama and testimony.

Westminster Congregational Church, 411 S. Washington, will present the McKassons in concert Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The band will play Celtic fiddle music as well as bluegrass and some modern tunes.

Tickets are $15 at the door for adults, $13 for seniors and students.

“The Whitworth University Women’s Choir will perform Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Augustine Church, 428 W. 19th Ave.

The concert, “Deo Gracias!” will feature accompanists Bonnie Robinson and Mac Merchant on piano, Leslie Stratton Norris on harp, Cheryl Carney on cello, Nathaneal Ankeny on saxophone and Jacob Hildebrand on guitar.

Heritage Congregational Church, 1801 E. 29th Ave., will present Linda Massey on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

A pianist and organist, Massey has performed in area churches over the past 50 years.

There will be a reception following the program.

Sukiyaki dinner

Highland Park United Methodist Church, 611 S. Garfield St., will present its 59th annual Sukiyaki Dinner Saturday from noon to 7 p.m.

The event will include crafts, sushi and a bake sale.

Speakers and seminars

“The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard, will present a Radical Forgiveness Potpourri Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The evening will feature Sue Koentopp, a Radical Forgiveness coach who will discuss new groups and services such as support, clinics, group study and information about Radical Forgiveness.

Soka-Gakkai International-USA will present an introduction to Buddhism seminar Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Shadle Library, 2111 W. Wellesley.

The seminar will discuss the booklet, “The Winning Life.”

Manito United Methodist Church, 3220 S. Grand Blvd., will start a six-week PRISM Weight Loss Program in May. An introductory session will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The program is based on biblical principles and will address the whole person in body, mind and spirit.

The cost of the program and materials is $55.

Book sale

First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar, will present a Colossal Book Sale Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Items for sale will include teaching aids, children’s books, religious reference books, fiction, cookbooks, music and more.

The proceeds will benefit the church’s adult and children’s libraries. Any remaining funds will be donated to local and foreign missions.
