Pam Thompson has been named National Social Work Leader of the Year by the National Society of Social Work Leadership in Health Care. The award honors leaders who have found creative and innovative ways to improve delivery of social work services. Thompson serves is director of social services for Kootenai Health.
The Washington State Psychiatric Association has awarded Dr. Matt Layton the 17th Annual Delbert Kole Outstanding Public Psychiatrist Award for his contributions to psychiatry and mental health in Washington State.
Layton has been medical director of Spokane Mental Health for nearly eight years.
The U.S. Postal Service’s Processing and Distribution Center in Spokane has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for excellence in employee safety and health.
The facility has been welcomed into OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs with a “star,” designating the highest level of achievement.
