No TV for Shock playoff

The Spokane Shock’s second-round arenafootball2 home playoff game against the Central Valley Coyotes on Saturday night will not be televised.

KHQ 6, which televised Shock home games this season, is unavailable for Saturday’s 7 p.m. game because of Olympic coverage.

Baseball

Mitch Yada had three hits and earned the win as Moses Lake defeated University 7-5 in eight innings in a loser-out game of the State A Junior Legion tournament at U-Hi.

U-Hi forced extra innings with a three-run seventh as Colby Faulkes had an RBI single and Kramer LaVoie added a run-scoring triple.

Moses Lake plays Franklin Pierce at 2:30 p.m. today for a berth in the 5:30 title game against Lake Stevens.

Volleyball

Pacific-10 Conference coaches have selected Stanford as the favorite in their preseason poll.

The Cardinal, who have won the last two titles, were picked first by nine conference coaches. Coaches can’t vote for their own teams, so runner-up choice UCLA received the other first-place vote and 75 points.

USC (68 points) was picked third, followed by California (62) and Washington (59). Washington State (18) was selected for last place.
