Massage therapist opens practice
Heather Rosenthal graduated from the Florida School of Massage, one of the highest ranked schools of massage therapy in the country, in 1996. Since graduation, she has worked as a licensed massage therapist and practitioner in Florida, Texas and, for the last seven years, in Spokane.
Rosenthal owns Wildflower Therapeutic Massage which operates in the Elk-Chattaroy and surrounding areas. She specializes in deep tissue therapy, neuromuscular therapy and Swedish/relaxation massage. She is licensed in the state of Washington, nationally certified and an AMTA member.
By starting her own business, Rosenthal can make house calls. Over the next few weeks, she also will be available part time at a yoga studio in the Millwood area and at a spa in northwest Spokane, where she will accept insurance clients.
If you are in need of some soothing therapy or just want to ease some tension, call Rosenthal at 220-5505 for an appointment.
Consignment gallery opens
The Elk-Chattaroy area has long needed an outlet for local artisans. Pamela Schembri felt compelled to offer that opportunity for the many talented residents in the area, so she opened Lady in the Woods artisan consignment gallery. The gallery is at 4123 E. Laurel Road, at the corner of Highway 2 and Laurel Road in Chattaroy.
Lady in the Woods is in the spacious front area of Schembri’s home. Her husband’s business, Freedom Signs, is in the building in the back of the property. The grounds are shady and peaceful, and the gallery is welcoming and comfortable. The wood floors and large leaded glass windows are conducive to all of the lovely artworks on display. Pamela Schembri currently has on display painted photography, bird houses, woven rugs, exquisite hand-made dolls, etched glass, hand-made soaps, herbal products, precious stone and hemp jewelry, drums and rainsticks.
Schembri’s hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tea time at the gallery is from 2 to 3 p.m. each day it is open.
For information about showcasing an art or craft, call Schembri at 481-1698.
