School District 271 planning committee seeking members

This is an open invitation to those who are interested in our School District 271 Long Range Planning Committee.

We are accepting applications for nomination via the district Web site, www.cdaschools.org, or by mail. Just call 664-8241 and an application will be mailed to you. We encourage all community members, with or without school-age children to participate. Six new members are needed from across the district.

The Long Range Planning Committee is charged by the school board to offer recommendations regarding school programs and the building and maintenance of school district facilities. This fall, our agenda will include Lakes Middle School, Hayden Lake Elementary, the supplemental levy for programs, and grade allocations at the schools. The time commitment for membership is a 90-minute meeting on the third Monday of the month. Occasionally issues arise requiring more discussion and meeting time, always with advance notice. A four-year term will begin with the October meeting.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in lively discussions on issues pertinent to the growth and success of our children, please join us. The deadline for application is Wednesday.
