Bike ride start wrong
The informal Midnight Century 100-mile bicycle tour will begin at 11:59 p.m. Saturday at The Elk restaurant in Browne’s Addition. The starting location was wrong in a Sunday Outdoors announcement.
Teaser incorrect
Illinois, not Idaho, ranks fifth in the nation for millionaires. The ranking was wrong in a Page One teaser Wednesday because of incorrect information from a wire service.
Pickling dates wrong
A story on pickling in Wednesday’s food section misidentified centuries for historical figures, due to incorrect information provided in the New York Food Museum pickle timeline and a reporter’s errors. Aristotle lived in the 4th century B.C.; the first Roman emperor, Augustus, reigned in 27 B.C.; Queen Elizabeth of England ruled mostly during the 16th century; and Napoleon’s armies likely ate pickles in the 19th century.
