Red Sox 6, Blue Jays 5 (11): At Toronto, Jed Lowrie hit a solo homer in the 11th inning, Dustin Pedroia had a three-run shot and Boston beat the Blue Jays. Coco Crisp also homered for Boston, which has won 11 of 16 on the road.

Royals 7, Tigers 3: At Kansas City, Mo., Brandon Duckworth went five shaky innings for his first major league win as a starter in more than two years, leading the Royals past Detroit and snapping Kansas City’s seven-game losing streak.

Yankees 8, Orioles 7: At Baltimore, Robinson Cano hit the tiebreaking homer in the seventh inning after New York blew a five-run lead, and the Yankees beat the Orioles for a three-game sweep.

White Sox 6, Rays 5 (10): At Chicago, Alexei Ramirez singled home the winning run in the 10th inning after A.J. Pierzynski’s bizarre trip around the bases, and the White Sox rallied past Tampa Bay to avoid a three-game sweep. Jim Thome hit his 534th homer, and the White Sox tied it at 5 in the ninth on pinch-hitter Paul Konerko’s two-out single off fill-in closer Dan Wheeler. Ken Griffey Jr. started the rally with a one-out double.

Angels 5, Twins 3: At Anaheim, Calif., Francisco Rodriguez earned his 50th save, and Los Angeles got RBI triples from Vladimir Guerrero and Gary Matthews Jr. in the eighth inning to rally past Minnesota for a split of the four-game series between division leaders.

Indians 4, Rangers 3: At Arlington, Texas, Franklin Gutierrez’s tiebreaking single in the ninth inning led Cleveland past the Rangers for their seventh straight win and a three-game sweep of fading Texas. Rafael Betancourt picked up the win.
